Wedding Market Statistics

There were over 2,167,000 weddings in the US in 2015, with the forecast for 2016 for the numbers to be about the same, perhaps a little less. Nationally it’s a $72 billion industry and that doesn’t include the cost of the honeymoon or wedding gifts and travel for guests attending weddings. The average wedding had 136 guests attending in 2015.

We itemize the wedding statistics by state and some of the major metropolitan areas we serve in the charts below, but for smaller areas, although exact statistics can be difficult to come by, the US Dept of Commerce indicates that typically 0.007% of the base population of any specific region gets married each year.
